Welcome Home Joan Surpasses Goal

Thanks to everyone who donated to make the Welcome Home Joan project a rousing success. They surpassed their goal of $18,000 so Joan Brown can have an accessible shower in her home. She has been traveling an hour each way to the Shepherd Center three times a week to take a shower. FODAC also provided her with a hospital bed.

Joan was left paralyzed from a gunshot in the neck in 2011 and rehabbed at a hospital in her native Jamaica and locally at the Shepherd Center. Look for more details on the completed project as they become available.

Testimonials

Thank you guys so much for helping these students! I know these outdoor activities are the highlight of the year for some of these kiddos and most of the time, our wheelchair bound students try to avoid coming to school those days.  Without you guys, having them participate could be almost impossible! I know they will be SO excited to be able to explore their outdoor learning environment like their typical peers!
