WHERE Next Step Ministries

7709 Turner Road, Woodstock

WHY Next Step Ministries will host an HME Collection Drive to benefit Friends of Disabled Adults and Children (FODAC). Participants are asked to bring to the location new and gently used HME, such as wheelchairs, rollators, walkers and shower benches, which FODAC will refurbish and re-distribute to those in need, particularly those with disabilities recovering from recent storms including Hurricanes Florence and Michael.

Event will be held rain or shine.

Equipment gathered from the event helps support FODAC’s main program supplying HME to the mobility impaired and their caregivers, at little or no cost to the recipients.

Some equipment that is especially needed:

  Adaptive strollers

Air casts

Bathing aids

Crutches and forearm crutches

Corner chairs

Gait trainers

Hospital beds

Manual and electric wheelchairs

Shower supports

Specialized mattresses (not regular mattresses)

Toilet supports

Now celebrating its 31st anniversary, Friends of Disabled Adults and Children (FODAC) helps children and adults with injuries and disabilities regain their mobility, independence and quality of life. The non-profit organization provides more than $10 million annually in refurbished durable medical equipment (DME) and home modifications in Georgia and across the United States, all at little or no cost to the recipients. A pioneer in re-use, FODAC keeps 350 tons of materials out of landfills each year by refurbishing and reissuing over 700 DME items every month, and is recognized nationally for best practices.
