Lawrenceville Library Adds Assisstive Technology

Gwinnett County Public Library is excited to promote our new Assistive Technology Center at the Lawrenceville branch! Included here is some information that explains what we have available for customers. Hopefully some of your students/community might find our services useful should you have the opportunity to refer us to them.

Specifically, Lawrenceville’s Assistive Technology Center has:
• a Prodigi Digital Magnifier
• an Intel Reader
• a new Dell PC with JAWS, ZoomText, and Natural reader software installed
• a Brailliant BI 40 Braille keyboard available for checkout at the help desk
• an iPad with Apple accessibility settings including “Voice Over,” large/zoom text, increased contrast and inverted colors
• AiPad apps include the big browser, Dragon Dictation and Mag-light
• Adjustable Height Tables & Chairs at each workstation
In addition, an Assistive Tool Kit, Trackball Mouse, and Accessibility Keyboard are available for in-branch use at each of our 15 locations.

More information about GCPL’s Assistive Technology can be found here. Attached is a printable flyer if you’d like to share the information that way.

ADA Celebration– Save the Date!

To help get the word out, the Library will be hosting an ADA Celebration on Thursday, September 17th, 2015. We are planning two demos for our equipment, one at 2 pm and one at 6:30 pm. We hope you or a colleague can attend and tell us what you think! Please let us know if you think you may join us.
